A series of five boxes located along the Peter Strauss trail in Agoura. This
hike was rated difficult due to the gain of several hundred feet in less
than 1/4 mile along a narrow path. It is less than 3/4 mile total length and
suitable for strong walking children and those in carriers.

The members also released the second in their 4 H's hitch hiker series,
"Heart".

Gnosis 4-H Club,
This is to let you know that I'm first stamp in your first ten
letterboxes, the upper and lower Franklin Canyon Series. I've got
your "Head" HH, and will move it along shortly. Thank you for the
fun days in the Santa Monica mountains!

How long did it take to get all 10? I would imagine this is what letterboxing in CT must be like. ; )

Eric (don't you have a letterboxing name; makes me self-conscious
about my sobriquet ;-)),
The Gnosis 4-H Club have apparently made it their mission to bring
Northeast-style letterboxing to Southern California--God bless 'em.
You see, they've got a posse, and plant five LBs at a time. They're
going to saturate the Santa Monica Mountains with letterboxes. I
keep an eye out for their posts, and get out there the next weekend;
thus, I'm first stamp in their first 10 LBs. Now they've planted
five more in Agoura--a bit more of a drive for me, so I've
hesitated. My advice to you is: Get out there pronto! These Gnosis
folks seem to have a way of hiding their LBs a little too much out in
the open for my taste, and I've taken to adding a few more leaves and
twigs to their hideouts, but all ten were in place when I found 'em.
Thank you Gnosis!!

Eric (don't you have a letterboxing name; makes me self-conscious

I do have a trail name. It is California Bear.
I had my e-mail set up to automatically attach my name to every outgoing mail and I always forget to change it to read California Bear. I finally removed the automatic one. Hopefully I will remember to add a sig line when I send me e-mails now. : )

Very cool! I would love to run out and grab those tomorrow. Unfortunately, I have previous obligations. :( I was looking at my calendar and it may be Sept. before I can get out and do any serious hunting. :`` (

California Bear,
